SolidCAM upgrades SolidCAM Simulator to integrate MachineWorks GPU
MachineWorks has announced that MachineWorks GPU is now integrated into SolidCAM 2026 to create an accurate in-process stock model in seconds, rather than in minutes or hours.
Users will be able to quickly visualise and review all, or key portions of, large machining jobs without having to run the full simulation until the final setup has been checked and confirmed.
“MachineWorks has been a great partner for what will soon be three decades. They are known in the industry for developing great technology, and their new GPU-based simulation is no exception. The performance benefits are obvious, and over time we believe they will fundamentally change how simulation is used by our customers,” said SolidCAM CEO Dr Emil Somekh.
For the majority of machining operations, MachineWorks GPU computes intersections based on analytic equations, rather than tessellated representations of the swept geometry, providing both high levels of intersection point precision and multi-core scalability.
“We are very pleased that another longstanding MachineWorks partner has chosen to integrate MachineWorks GPU into their product suite,” said MachineWorks managing director Dr Fenqiang Lin.
“We are continuing to further develop the GPU technology and plan to deliver GPU-based full machine kinematics and collision detection later this year. It will then be possible to compute advanced verifications of complex milling jobs in a fraction of the time that was previously possible.”
