CRP Group launch CRP UniqTrust to integrate digital passports into component supply chains

CRP has launched UniqTrust to give each 3D printed Windform component its own digital identity, allowing authorised personnel to access a component’s origin, conformity, and production history.

The system was developed in collaboration with Contatto Davino; specialists in NFC and AI anti-counterfeiting solutions that connect high-value physical products to the digital ecosystem.

“For over fifty-five years, we have been manufacturing components for those who cannot afford margins of error. CRP UniqTrust is the natural evolution of this culture: it is no longer enough for a part to be expertly made. It must be able to prove its own identity and conformity at any point in its life cycle,” said CRP Group CEO and CTO Franco Cevolini.

The new link between the physical object and its digital identity relies on a non-clonable element, placed in the packaging and associated with the part during the manufacturing process.

A single record follows the component through the supply chain, showing the certificate of authenticity, order references, part code, and material used, with additional information available on request.

An authorised operator can hold a device close to the packaging and see its digital identity immediately.

Digital access to this information could replace the circulation of paper certificates and datasheets, helping keep information consistent and easily retrievable.

The new system will flag read requests that are inconsistent with the intended recipient company, safeguarding the integrity of the supply chain.

The launch of CRP UniqTrust anticipates the European Digital Product Passport, which is set to extend into the manufacturing industry.

Based in Modena, Italy, CRP Group is an international business producing CNC machined metal and SLS 3D printed Windform polymer additive manufacturing.
