Authentise has launched of Whisper, a new AI platform designed to capture, understand and act on engineering intent across the entire idea-to-part lifecycle.
Whisper captures engineering activity as it happens across tools like Slack, email, meetings and enterprise systems, structures the data, applying context and permissions, and acts on it directly within existing workflows.
Authentic says the results are the ability to detect risk earlier, add in real-time compliance checks, add automated updates across ERP, PLM and QMS systems, while presenting a full provenance and audit trail tied to parts and projects.
Positioned as an ‘agentic AI backbone’, Whisper acts to connect fragmented engineering knowledge and turns it into real-time action inside existing enterprise systems ensuring the most valuable knowledge exits emails, meetings and chat threads and can be built on, repeatedly.
“Engineering intent is the missing layer in digital transformation,” said Authentise CEO Andre Wegner. “We’ve spent 14 years helping companies digitise workflows. Whisper is the next step. It doesn’t ask engineers to change how they work. It listens, understands, and acts.”
While the long-term value is said to come from capturing engineering intent, Whisper offers immediate benefits in compliance, coordination and execution.
Whisper is released as source-available, allowing customers to extend and deploy it within their own environments. Authentic say that initial access requires ‘a low upfront commitment’, with full costs only incurred ‘once value is proven’.
Early partners have highlighted some of the benefits, with Prototal – a serial production partner for injection moulding and 3D printing – one of several industry players helping shape that direction of the product.
“As part of the steering committee, we pushed hard on one thing: this had to work in the real world, not just in theory,” said Rob Weighill, group systems architect at Prototal Group.
“In a high-throughput environment, the challenge is keeping projects moving across teams. Seeing Whisper come together has been genuinely exciting because it doesn’t just surface insights, it takes action directly in the tools our teams already use.”
