It’s that time of year again where the team at DEVELOP3D put together their list of 30 new and exciting technologies to impact the workflows of product designers, engineers and marketers.
As you might expect, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has popped up often while compiling this year’s D3D 30. Across all sectors, many of the best new tools and updates for enhancing your workflows lean on AI in some way.
From CAM assistants to 3D Scanning software, it is speeding up the mundane and offering guidance. It’s even showing up in established CAD packages, taking root as a diligent assistant, but ready to play a much more comprehensive role sooner than later. What that might lead to is still up for debate, but expect it to do more than simply point you towards the right button to click.
Lots of AI tools means that there’s plenty of fresh names bringing something new to the table, but be reassured that many are helmed by experienced heads that have years of experience in developing software for designers and engineers.
It’s not all about AI – with some exciting hardware in the mix and updates to existing tools that simply make existing workflows smoother.
As ever, it’s worth remembering that unlike other awards this list is chosen entirely on merit by us. There’s no entry fee, flashy black-tie awards ceremony or pay-to-play, as our aim is to help our readers find the tools to design and build the products and systems of the future.
2025 is a year rich with exciting technologies, and like previous lists we expect these tools to grow in terms of capability and adoption, benefitting you, the users. So click the link below to read all 30 entries:
