The HP Z Captis 3D scanner for converting complex physical material properties into digital assets, has been given further capabilities in a new update integrating it with Adobe Substance 3D Sampler.
The update to Adobe Substance 3D Sampler allows it to convert complex physical material properties captured by the Z Captis into structured datasets for AI-assisted enterprise pipelines, giving teams more accurate and controllable inputs for product visualisation.
New frame-rate and resolution options should give greater control to users across both Windows and Mac platforms, while there is support for hybrid AI inference on Nvidia Jetson AGX.

HP highlights the breadth of industries currently using the Captis in their CMF workflows – from footwear and fashion to automotive and aviation – supporting their visualisation digital twin workflows at scale.
The 3D scanner allows a more direct path from physical samples to reusable digital assets that support design review, 3D visualisation, and downstream content creation.
This update should give designers more freedom to explore and refine designs while helping enterprises accelerate iteration and maintain greater consistency.
