New PTC Jetstream brings collaboration layer to Windchill

2 0

PTC has launched Jetstream, its cloud collaboration layer to better link product development teams, meetings, mark-ups, decisions and context in an AI-native layer that feeds directly into Windchill PLM.

Noting the increase in dispersed and fragmented teams throughout companies and workflows, PTC says it has set out to reconcile input, maintain a clear record of what was agreed, and carry that work into execution.

Jetstream provides a shared environment for real-time and asynchronous collaboration across teams and project stakeholders – connecting conversations, feedback and decisions directly to product context, including data created and managed in PTC Windchill – maintaining governance and traceability.

Starting a collaboration from Windchill shares product data to secure Collaboration Rooms and returns a record of the issues raised and decisions reached against the product data back to Windchill, so teams working in Windchill know what was agreed and why.

The Collaboration Rooms give access-controlled workspaces for selected employees, suppliers and partners to participate in product reviews. 2D and 3D product data can be viewed there without requiring every participant to work directly in CAD or PLM.

Comments and markups made there can be tied to the relevant content being reviewed, including the data version, who reviewed it, when and the context – such as a specific view of the design – making feedback easier to understand and act on.

Jetstream’s AI can build full summaries from these meetings, highlighting key decisions, outcomes and next steps, plus the owners.

PTC Jetstream also works on its own without Windchill, letting users upload files – including Creo, Solidworks and STEP files – and invite teams and external partners to start collaborating. Windchill customers gain extra value from the native connection that  lets them launch Rooms directly from Windchill and export Room activity back to the product record.

“Product development is a team effort, but the tools used to support it have not kept pace with how widely distributed that team has become,” said PTC CPO Jon Stevenson. “PTC Jetstream gives every contributor a more direct way to shape the product and can carry the context of those decisions back into Windchill, turning collaboration into a connected part of product development so companies can move from collective expertise to great products faster.”
