Tech Soft 3D has acquired Redway3D as it looks to expand its visualisation portfolio of SDKs to provide photo-realistic and advanced real-time rendering capabilities.

Redway3D is the creator of Redsdk, a software component providing photo-realistic and real-time rendering capabilities, which Tech Soft 3D says fits with the company’s plans to further invest in product development to scale its global reach through acquisitions.

Tech Soft 3D says that Redsdk complements its existing solution, Hoops Visualize, through its strong focus on raytracing-based photorealistic rendering and its game-engine approach to advanced real-time visualisation.

Hoops Visualize is an engineering-focused graphics library and SDK for rendering 3D CAD models on desktop, mobile and AR/VR devices, and relied on by companies such as Hexagon, Trimble, Ansys, Solidworks, Autodesk and more.

Redway3D has many customers in common, and Tech Soft 3D believes that this acquisition will allow it to become even more critical technology partner while making the Hoops platform more attractive to a wider set of users in the engineering software world by enabling them to maximise their use of CAD data.

“Adding the Redsdk technology to our portfolio addresses a need many of our partners have for advanced, photo-realistic visualisation and rendering, which is an area in which we will continue investing,” said Tech Soft 3D CEO Ron Fritz.

“We remain focused on empowering developers of engineering software to build world-class applications for manufacturing, building and construction and other industries, and the addition of the sophisticated Redway3D technologies will help us do that on an even broader scale.”
