Sandvik is set to acquire Verisurf, a 3D metrology software solutions provider that will be reported as a separate business unit, in the second quarter of 2025.
Both companies have agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed. The acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Verisurf offers modular-based software solutions for quality inspection, assembly, guidance and reverse engineering. These solutions are built on the Mastercam Design platform, which Sandvik acquired in 2021.
It is based in Anaheim, California, and provides solutions to small, medium and large customers, including those in the aerospace and defence industries.
In 2024, Verisurf had revenues of approximately 12 million USD and served a customer base of approximately 1,500 companies.
Sandvik predicts that the acquisition will “complement and enhance Sandvik’s position in industrial metrology and strengthen the combined digital manufacturing offering to small and mid-sized manufacturers (SMEs).”
Verisurf’s founder and president Ernie Husted will continue his role throughout the acquisition’s transitional period.
Verisurf will strengthen our metrology offering and ability to support the growing customer demand for precision measurement and quality assurance in manufacturing,” said president and CEO of Sandvik, Stefan Widing.
“The acquisition fits very well with our strategy to grow in digital manufacturing and provide comprehensive solutions for our customers to drive efficiency and productivity.”
The acquisition comes after Sandvik’s purchase of three American CAM solution resellers last week – Barefoot CNC, CAD/CAM Solutions, and CamTech Engineering Services. It has also acquired the probing and postprocessor businesses from CIMCO Group and acquired Canadian Postability in 2023.
