It’s the film leading the charge for Oscars and BAFTA awards, but the escapism and fantasy of The Shape of Water contains a satisfying amount of hardcore physical and digital design work.
With two making of featurettes already swimming around on the internet, take a break from whatever it is you’re doing to sit back an admire the attention to detail placed on the prop and set design and some slick viz work that flits from fine details to entire jet engine bays.
The first vid showcases the physical products and scenery developed for the film, while the second covers the VFX, which in many cases overlays on top of the physical.
