Optis has announced the renaming of its two recent acquisitions, perceived quality improvement solution Icona Solutions and 3D real time and virtual reality technologies SimplySim.
Named Optis Pristine and Optis Imagine, respectively, the original development pole of Optis, dealing with light and human vision simulation, is to change to Optis Illumine.
The new tools are primarily focussed on the automotive market, with Icona Solutions product Aesthetica allowing all involved in the design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly process to engage in perceived quality assessment within a single tool.
As well as unifying the brands, Optis wants to assert its identity in the field of managing design and human perception, while addressing complex interactions of lighting, materials and the natural world.
“This is all very logical”, shrugged Optis CEO and founder Jacques Delacour at the announcement. “First, you see your product and visually perceive materials thanks to light, so Optis Illumine perfectly symbolizes our historical activities.
“Then, you can explore a whole new world and feel the shapes and colors of your product in virtual reality, with Optis Imagine. And, last but not least, you perfect the aesthetics of your product to get a high quality and purity, with Optis Pristine.”
