The UK’s premiere showcase of graduate product development talent, New Designers, returns on 1 – 4 July to the Business Design Centre, London, with a new award from DEVELOP3D that highlights our picks from the assembled student designers.
Founded in 1985 as a platform to celebrate the UK’s emerging creative talent, it quickly grew into the country’s leading graduate design showcase for product design. The event champions thousands of university students each year, inspires many more who attended as school pupils planning their next steps, and acts as an unofficial industry meeting point.
Serving as a hub for highlighting and hiring new graduate talent, in an age where many firms are looking towards AI and other options, we felt it pertinent to step up to the plate and make more of our unofficial Top 5 from New Designers, a feature that first ran in 2011 and which has returned on and off ever since.
Looking back on our picks, we’ve chosen some people that – for many – have gone on to have excellent careers in product design, and we hope to continue being this lucky(!).
We heartily recommend that you come along and join the event – we’ll be present there on Saturday 4 July, so be sure to stop us and chat if you spot us.
The DEVELOP3D editorial staff will choose five of the best designers showcasing excellent skills, use of technology and a flair for their craft, featuring all five in the August/September edition of the magazine and online.
