EinScan Trak: the world’s first wireless, dual-form, marker-free tracking system, promising better efficiency and flexibility from Shining 3D


Designed to simplify large-scale 3D scanning workflows, EinScan Trak combines an optical tracking system with a detachable handheld scanner, for users to scan large objects in tracking mode and perform handheld laser scanning for localised, high-detail capture.

Featuring a marker-free tracking system, EinScan Trak allows users to scan large object surfaces directly without placing markers on the object itself. The handheld scanner mode supports blue laser marker-free scanning for feature-rich surfaces.

Enabling efficient marker-free workflows in both tracking mode and handheld scanner mode significantly reduces preparation time and delivers scanning speeds of up to 2,630,000 points per second.

Within the system, there are two work modes: the tracker + spherical scanner for large objects and the handheld scanner for flexibility offering a scanning range of up to 4 m and resolutions as fine as 0.05 mm.

In tracking mode, the spherical scanner works wirelessly together with the tracker to provide fast and expansive scanning for medium-to-large objects,

EinScan tracks using retroreflective markers, so there is no need to rely on continuous object features or markers, and users can move between scanning areas while maintaining stable and reliable data capture across large objects.

In handheld scanner mode, the scanner can be detached and used independently as a wireless handheld laser scanner with no tracker set up for capturing data from small mechanical components, deep cavities, narrow spaces, and other hard-to-reach areas.

Modes can be switched between within the same project, ensuring complete data capture.

The EinScan Trak system is built around two closely coordinated components: an optical tracker and a spherical scanner module designed for high-efficiency surface coverage.

Inside EinScan Trak

The scanner integrates two 2MP depth cameras and a 5MP texture camera for simultaneous geometric and colour data capture.

EinScan Trak’s laser projection system consists of crossed laser lines for high-efficiency scanning, parallel laser lines for capturing fine details, and a single laser line for deep-feature scanning.

The tracker is also equipped with 5MP cameras to enhance tracking performance and spatial capture.

Supporting both wireless and wired operation, EinScan Trak combines large-range rapid scanning with localised high-precision detail capture.

Equipped with a high-capacity battery and a Wi-Fi 6 communication module, the system connects through an independent LAN and pairs automatically at startup, promising stable and fluid wireless scanning within a range of up to 4 meters.

Able to be used both indoors and outdoors, with lighting conditions of up to 110,000 lux and battery performance which supports up to 5.5 hours in tracking mode and up to 3.5 hours in scanner mode.
