Esprit Additive for Powder Bed Parts

New AM build software from Esprit utilises Solidworks integration

DP Technology, the parent company of the Esprit CAM system, is enhancing its additive manufacturing offering with new software specifically for powder bed fusion.

Esprit Additive for Powder Bed comes as an add-in application for Solidworks and works directly with native .SLDPRT files and any neutral 3D CAD format, such as STEP.

Due to this integration, Esprit suggests that the part model is not ‘approximated with triangles’ – with Additive Suite part slicer calculating the build layers directly from the original 3D CAD model.

Esprit says that this gives its software the highest level of performance and accuracy.

These slices are stored with the Part-to-Build file and can be reused in multiple jobs, further saving more time and providing consistency from build to build.

“This optimised workflow saves our users even more time by eliminating the need to repeatedly define the manufacturing information,” says Clement Girard, product manager for additive solutions, DP Technology.

“Additive for Powder Bed Fusion improves consistency by ensuring a part is built the same way each time and maintains traceability by recording each step from the original 3D CAD file.”
