Keynote: Alister Whelan of Jaguar interiors on the new I-PACE concept

It’s almost time for DEVELOP3D LIVE 2017, and this year we have another action-packed, one-day conference and exhibition. We have a fantastic line-up of 40 designers, engineers and software/hardware developers, presenting future technologies under one roof.

We have grouped conference sessions into specific themes and due to the fact that some sessions will run simultaneously, we recommend you bring your colleagues to make the most of the day.

Dedicated sessions on 3D Printing, concentrating on new materials, Product Design/ Engineering, Start-up and a whole track of Design Visualisation, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.

Leading designers talk about their innovative approaches to product design and engineering including Alister Whelan, creative director at Jaguar, and Dustin Brown, senior industrial designer at Microsoft and many more. For a full line-up of speakers and conference sessions click here

The future of CAD includes presentations from the heads of all the major CAD software developers: Autodesk, SolidWorks, PTC, Siemens PLM, onshape and SolidThinking.

Expanded exhibition space with over 70 exhibitors, including an exciting and expanded VR Zone and Startup area. Click here for a look at all the exhibiting companies and what they’ll be showing.

WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group) tours — This year we will once again be running free tours of the WMG manufacturing and design facilities throughout the day. Spaces are limited so sign up at reception on arrival.

Virtual Reality design experience This year we have an expanded VR experience in the Mead Gallery, with many opportunities to try immersive VR for yourself.

Dell and Siemens PLM have teamed up to produce a unique VR and SolidEdge design experience. Delegates will be able to model a component in SolidEdge and immediately bring this through into a VR experience on Dell Precision Workstations. This will take place every hour from 10.30am in the Studio.

The Robot Bike Co. R160 mountain bike frame was designed and manufactured in the UK with partner companies Altair, HiETA Technologies and Renishaw (who will be on stand 43) using metal additive manufacturing

Learn about cutting edge 3D printing technology

Now that the hype is over, the 3D Printing market can concentrate on delivering useable machines that produce production-ready parts.

This year we have focussed on innovation in materials, carbon fibre and metals, together with topology and print strategies based on analysis and topology. We have Markforged, Renishaw, nTopology, Intrinsys and Stratasys, which have major new announcements.

3D artist André Matos will be revealing how he creates renders like this one of the Porsche E-Mission Interior

A truly epic design visualisation track that goes virtual

This year we have an all day session dedicated to design visualisation and have crammed in an insane number of fantastic speakers.

We cover hardware with AMD and HP, HTC and Microsoft talk VR and AR goggles, with Chaos Group (VRay), Lightworks (I-Ray) and The Foundry (Modo/CaraVR). We even have Andre Matos from Porsche flying in from Germany.
