Workspace: SME friendly ‘ContainerVille’ in the heart of London

A new office in the heart of the city, but by the canal?

It’s not often that we delve into the murky world of real estate, but having stumbled across this new ‘development’ we thought it would be unkind not to share it:

ContainerVille is a stack of 30 shipping containers arranged over two floors, up-cycled* into modern work spaces by Broadway Market and the Regents Canal.

Each container can comfortably accommodate four desks, has running water, electricity and a 100Mb internet connection, while being slap bang at the centre of East London’s hippest, design-focused boroughs.

Each ex-shipping container has space for four workstations and comes complete with a mini-kitchen and 100Mb internet

The space is still costly – around £1,300pcm once you’ve factored in costs – however, for a SME trying to make a name for itself in the Capital, it might be worth a look.

Discounts are available for long term leases, while super short term arrangements might be just the thing for a City-based product launch.

SME space in London is becoming harder to come by, so are ContainerVille scenarios the future?
