Structured light scanning specialist, Solutionix, has launched the new CS and CS+ 3D scanners, announcing it will be showing both at the TCT Live 2012 conference/exhibition coming up in September at the NEC, Birmingham.

Both products are an evolution of the company’s existing products and provide high accuracy and resolution with a set of interchangable lenses for scans up to 400mm in the diagonal. Both use the same blue LED technology and phase shifting optical triangulation to capture points in space.
The difference between the two models is the CS+ is a turnkey solution aimed primarily at the inspection and metrology market (with portable stand, turntable), while the Rexcan CS is available as a standalone, low-cost, high accuracy scanner for use in a wide variety of applications, such as reverse engineering and design (without the stand and turntable).

Pricing isn’t confirmed yet, but Solutionix are looking to differentiate themselves by lowering the cost of entry for these types of higher-end scanning devices. It’s also worth noting that the webpage hasn’t been updated with the new product’s details as yet either.
