Having been freshly acquired by Hexagon, Aicon3D has unveiled the PrimeScan, a compact entry level solution that works with its AICON OptoCat software, using the same algorithms as its high-end scanner lines
Fitting on an A4 sheet of paper and weighing only 3 kg, the scanner is suitable as a desktop solution and for applications in cramped spatial conditions in industrial surroundings
Measuring fields between 50 mm and 1000 mm are available, and depending on the required resolution and precision, different camera resolutions are available: two, five or 8 megapixel, while the software should allow for fast creation of precise point clouds.
The PrimeScan is equipped with either blue-light-technology for industrial applications or white-light-technology for scanning with additional color information as required in arts, culture and design.
Aicon3D also suggests that its projector is powerful enough to allow for the scanning of glossy and dark surfaces without pretreatment.
Tripods, turntables and photogrammetry are available as accessories to carry out automated measurements and to easier capture even large volumes.
