Manufacturing aftersales technology solution provider Partful has introduced Workful to bring automation to its work instructions platform.
Workful transforms the training and processes of engineering and operations teams by turning existing CAD data into digital 3D work instructions, helping organisations replace static 2D drawings, PDFs and photos with interactive, real-time information.
The introduction of automation means that OEMs can now self-serve by simply uploading product data – such as CAD files – to create 3D instructions manuals almost instantly. Workful also offers users one-click distribution.
Partful CEO Sam Burgess, said: “This is helping to refine process quality, improve team communication and reduce the risk of error in environments such as assembly and production lines, as well as maintenance and troubleshooting. It is also helping to speed up training and onboarding.’
“When it comes to work instructions, manufacturers have traditionally had to rely on lengthy static documents or PowerPoint. All too often, these are either out-of-date or difficult to comprehend, and that’s when costly mistakes can occur, and time is wasted.”
Burgess concludes that the automation enabled by Workful means instructions can be created and updated faster, allowing for greater equipment uptime.
Workful follows the automation of Partful’s 3D Parts Catalog earlier this year. The combined product suite aims to allow engineers to identify and order the components they need and to access the work instructions to fit them.
The platform, previously named SamsonVT, is helping global OEMs, such as Lotus, Norton and Kolpak, to create user-friendly aftersales experiences that are helping to eradicate costly order errors, protect manufacturer revenues and limit product downtime, by enabling faster part fulfilment and repair.
