Centric Software has announced its partnership with Rhino 3D to facilitate and drive collaborative design, allowing users to save time and boost creativity.
The product lifecycle management provider said this collaboration aims to provide Rhino users with innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source and sell products offered by Centric, to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Centric PLM said it has selected Rhino 3D, the CAD flagship application by Rhinoceros used for 3D design, rapid prototyping and 3D printing across industries including product design, industrial design, architecture, multimedia and graphic design, as it is highly customisable and offers compatibility with many other types of software, supporting over 30 CAD file formats for importing and exporting.
“This partnership is the latest in a series of collaborations with 3D solution providers and will enable Centric PLM users to work with Rhino designs through Centric PLM Connect,” explains Centric Software VP of product Ron Watson.
“Rhino users will be able to connect new designs with PLM, access PLM libraries for such things as pre-defined components, starting templates, trim, colours, share 3D views with non-Rhino users in the PLM interface to quickly gather feedback and input style property information from Rhino directly into Centric, ultimately saving time and driving more creative and collaborative design.”
Like other innovations and integrations, Centric said this partnership with Rhino was developed in direct response to the needs of Centric’s customers. With 3D design and virtual sampling on the rise, in fact, streamlining design is high on both companies’ agendas.
“In line with our strategy of being as open-ended as possible and to integrate Centric solutions with all leading 3D design applications, we are delighted to announce our partnership with Rhino 3D,” said Centric Software CEO Chris Groves.
“Integrations such as these empower our customers with greater visibility, collaboration and time saved, enabling them to focus on bringing the best possible products to market efficiently.”
