NexCAD has launched AI Checker, its intelligent assistant that automates engineering drawing reviews, helping cut review times and prevent manufacturing errors.
At launch, AI Checker supports Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks, with plans to integrate further CAD softwares in the works. Trained on engineering standards and best practices it has proven to be highly accurate, however it also learns from user feedback to continuously improve for specific user requirements.
Every drawing reviewed in NexCAD is analysed with corrections, approvals and engineer feedback are captured in a structured knowledge base. This continuously growing database improves AI accuracy over time and creates a custom, company-specific foundation for future automation.
The platform automatically scans engineering drawings for missing dimensions, tolerance inconsistencies and standards violations, giving engineers instant feedback so they can focus on what matters most, design intent and innovation.
When users accept a recommendation, NexCAD can automatically apply the correction – saving time on repetitive fixes while maintaining compliance.
The launch marks a major milestone in NexCAD’s vision to create an AI-native collaborative design assistant, where engineers can query, check and even generate design data within a single platform.
“We’ve all been there, late nights reviewing drawing packs, deadlines looming,” said NexCAD CEO Uzair Syed. “Our mission is to make engineers 10X more productive by letting AI handle the repetitive checks while humans focus on creativity and problem-solving.
“Every product needs a drawing. Yet millions of these drawings are still checked manually daily, for tolerances, GD&T, title blocks and notes. One small error can cause days of delay, thousands in scrap, or even a lost customer.”
