The new Creaform MetraSCAN Black has been announced in a flurry of blue lasers, as it targets factory floor 3D measurements and inspections.

With 15 blue laser crosses producing 1,800,000 measurements per second, the MetraSCAN Black has reportedly four-times more resolution than the previous model.

Creaform also announced that the new Black model has increased scanning speed, done away with warm-up time and comes with ISO 17025 accredited factory calibration and accuracy to 0.025mm.

Creaform’s optical CMM scanner has been designed specifically to perform metrology-grade 3D measurements and inspections while remaining portable on the factory floor.

It has the added benefit of touch probing capability when paired with Creaform’s HandyPROBE, giving the user a complete and somewhat more streamlined inspection process.
