Nextech AR has announced the growing market for augmented reality solutions to transform CAD data into lightweight 3D models has seen it sign deals across multiple industry verticals for its ARitize software solution.
Brunswick Corp, Jacuzzi Brands LLC, and Ford Motor Company are all looking to implement AR experiences for products with the help of Nextech AR’s CAD-Poly 3D modelling technology ARitize CAD.
Vancouver, Canada-based Nextech AR says that through using ARitize CAD, data heavy files can be converted to 3D AR models that are photorealistic, fully textured, optimised 3D meshes that are suitable for AR applications.
As companies scramble to increase their offering for AR-led online sales, Nextech says it is seeing a variety of companies from different industries highlighting their products using technology to increase engagement and ultimately drive more sales.
Nextech’s CTO Nima Sarshar, said: “Most modern products that have ever been built have been manufactured from reference CAD models. Think of it, that’s billions of products worldwide, and Nextech has invented an easy way to turn them into 3D models.
“Instead of using 2D images to create 3D models, we now have the ability to go straight to the source, where the products are actually designed by engineers (CAD files) and render these into perfect 3D models, at scale. Our new CAD to Poly solution is backed by technology that will prove to be the holy grail of scaling 3D content.”
Nextech AR says it has filed a provisional patent covering its method for ‘the conversion of CAD files into 3D models’.
To date, two Ford models have been created, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mache-E, and the 2021 Ford Escape SE Plug-in Hybrid.
