Beginning in their founder’s basement, Bowhead is a brand that pushes the limit of design and versatility by creating the world’s most innovative adaptive mobility products for the outdoor market.
The footage of its users screaming down dirt track gradients and reaching the tops of mountains is impressive, and the design process that the team undertakes is no less remarkable.
The company has since grown into a new workshop and shows no signs of slowing down, using Solidworks and 3DExperience Works to make it all happen.
Joining the Solidworks CEO at D3DLIVE, Bowhead founder and CTO Christian Bagg will discuss how this platform approach enables collaboration, innovation and helps them reimagine design.
A Canadian inventor and mechanical designer, Bagg was injured in 1996 while snowboarding, breaking his back and causing paralysis from the waist down.
Using his background as a machinist, he started inventing his way around the challenges he faced. With a love for the outdoors and a passion for problem solving, he has spent the last 20 years designing and building adaptive equipment.
What started as a way to solve his own problems grew into an outlet to help others experience the very outdoors that he loves so much.
Sharing his story has helped Christian establish partnerships with government agencies, private corporations and post-secondary education institutions, all with the belief that ‘everyone belongs outside’.
