PixyCAD app for 3D CAD

PixyCAD app launches for parasolid CAD on iPad

PixyCAD has launched its parasolid modelling app for iPad and Mac, including a free tier available via the App Store.

Using a direct-modelling workflow, PixyCAD lets users work with geometry directly – push and pull faces, add fillets, subtract volumes, and iterate quickly without managing a complex history tree. For the kinds of parts many makers actually create, such as brackets, enclosures, adapters, mounts and replacement components, PixyCAD says this approach is often faster, more intuitive and better suited to rapid design exploration.

Available for iPadOS 26 and macOS 15 on Apple Silicon. Built on Parasolid, the same professional geometry kernel used in leading CAD software, PixyCAD says it gives makers, 3D printing enthusiasts and hobbyists access to serious modeling tools in a workflow that feels approachable from the start.

The free Starter tier offers all core modelling tools plus STL and 3MF export. The Maker tier, priced at $19.99 per month or $179.99 per year, unlocks unlimited projects, high-resolution export, and support for professional formats including STEP and Parasolid X_T to take designs further downstream.

On iPad, PixyCAD is designed around Apple Pencil. Users can sketch a profile, extrude it into 3D, and refine the model by editing faces and edges directly. On Mac, the same workflow carries over in a consistent interface built for precision and speed. Everything runs on-device, with no cloud dependency, no required login, and no risk of losing files if a subscription ends.

“PixyCAD combines robust solid modelling and professional interoperability with a more approachable direct-modelling workflow,” said PixyCAD’s Marco Pifferi. “Rather than a traditional history-based system, users work directly with geometry by sketching, extruding, editing faces and edges, and refining parts quickly for iteration and downstream use.”
