Having been influenced by the Start-ups talks track at DEVELOP3D LIVE, a big part of the message was not to get carried away, play to your strengths, and do as much as you can with as little as possible.
Legendary graphic designer Saul Bass was a master of the art form of film pre-credits and posters, creating memorable products – sometimes more than the entire film that followed – from simple elements based around primary colours, animations and the everyday.
Style Is Substance takes a whirlwind look through the master’s back catalogue and breaks them down into design elements, which may or may not be inspiration for product design, but carries a message well: keep it simple.
