Voxeldance Additive 4.0 boost productivity for AM

Voxeldance has released Additive 4.0, the latest version of its all-in-one AM build preparation software, which aims to help businesses boost productivity with AM industrial applications.

The AM software provider said the update comes with more than 30 new features including shrink wrap, mesh smooth, tree support, web support and border reinforcement features.

The new shrink wrap feature in Voxeldance Additive 4.0 should be able to accurately calculate and wrap a layer around the part while ignoring its inner details.

Applications for this feature include architecture, automotive, dental or any field in which data can have complex errors and can’t be automatically fixed.

The new mesh smooth feature was developed to remove sharp details in topology-based mesh or scan datable, to avoid stress concentration and achieve a more appealing geometry for printing.

To save material, Voxeldance has introduced a tree support feature, aimed at models with high support structures, especially for 3d printing dental crowns, RPD and jewellery.

The new web support feature was introduced to better contain the shrinkage of ring-shaped surfaces and prevent part deformation in SLM printing.

Also aimed at SLM printing, the new border reinforcement feature should help provide stronger support restraint and ensure that parts, especially large ones, are held stable on the base plate before stress relief annealing, improving the print success rate and preventing them from cracking at the base edges and deform.

For parts with thin walls, sharp details, or lattice structures, Voxeldance Additive 4.0 should offer users the possibility to assign special volume and configure different laser scanning strategies, avoid problems such as over-burning, bulging, and severe powder adhesion, and improve the print quality in rich-detailed sub-areas.

“After listening to the needs of clients from 9+ verticals, including aerospace, medical, automotive, mould, footwear, dental, education, jewellery, prototype, etc., we introduced more exciting new features and further optimised the algorithm,” said VoxelDance CEO Chaoxin Zhang.

“VDA 4.0 fully supports SLM, SLA, and SLS printing technologies and is a milestone for industrial applications.”
