With Solidworks desktop in education now hooked up to simulation with Simulia via the 3DExperience Engineer offer, the Solidworks education team have been busy putting together new materials to take designers (young and old) through the toolset.
The new eBike Modeling and Simulation (MOD-SIM) series, sees the Solidworks Education team present on how to use this new technology for advanced simulation apps, structural mechanics, durability and electromagnetic analysis.
The sessions are free, and provide model files to review the setup, mesh, boundary conditions, loads and more, but users must register.
In the first session, ‘How to Build Models for Multi-Disciplinary Simulations?’ the team takes you through copying geometry from Solidworks in order to keep the original geometry connected for updates in the future, along with sharing many other great tips
“Our new engineering simulation portfolio of products allows educators to cover structural mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, multibody dynamics and electromagnetic field simulation for a true Multiphysics approach,” said Marie Planchard, senior director of early engagement, 3DExperience Works at Dassault Systèmes.

“With Simulia technology, you can do more with your students and introduce them to the MOD-SIM approach and collaboration of information. All model and simulation information is stored on the platform. Gone are the errors in naming conventions – Simulation1, Study 2, Study 3, the last one – really!”
Next month, the team answers the question ‘How Strong is the Frame?’, with users able to download the frame part and follow along with the instructional video.
