Esteco has acquired Turin-based Optimad Engineering, a company specialising in advanced engineering solutions, Reduced Order Modelling (ROM) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

Much of this is based around helping organisations achieve transparency and trust in their AI models, with Optimad’s solutions designed to make AI more understandable and interpretable, with ROM helping engineers understand and interpret predictions made by machine learning models.

By integrating Optimad’s technologies with Esteco’s suite of digital engineering software solutions, the goal is to offer AI data-driven process automation, design optimisation and simulation data management.

Esteco explains that its users will gain access to Optimad’s sophisticated tools and engineering solutions, while Optimad Engineering’s customers will benefit from Esteco’s expertise in optimisation and simulation data management. The unified portfolio will provide a more cohesive and streamlined experience, enabling engineers to achieve higher levels of performance and innovation.

“This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our 25 years of creating trailblazing digital engineering software, said Esteco president Carlo Poloni. “Optimad Engineering’s expertise and technological advancements perfectly complement our mission to empower engineers and designers with the tools they need to innovate and excel.”

Haysam Telib, CEO of Optimad Engineering, added: “This is an exciting new chapter for Optimad Engineering. Joining forces with Esteco will allow us to leverage their extensive resources and global reach, accelerating the development of our AI data-driven technologies and expanding our impact on the industry.

“Our combined efforts will provide our clients with more powerful and integrated solutions, enhancing their ability to solve complex engineering challenges.”
