“We want to be a one-stop-shop for manufacturing,” said 3D Hubs’ CEO Bram de Zwart, as he announced the company’s new addition of sheet metal fabrication to its online platform’s technology roster.
“Adding sheet metal fabrication is all part of our mission to provide the easiest and most efficient way to source high-quality parts,” he continued, with the range of materials offered include aluminium, stainless steel, mild steel and copper, with processing via either laser cutting or bending.
Users will need to upload their design, specify requirements, and will instantly receive a guaranteed quote from 3D Hubs. Once the quote is accepted, the order is then confirmed with one of 3DHubs’ 250 manufacturing partners.
This adds to 3D Hubs’ professional offerings of 3D printing, CNC Machining, Injection Moulding, and its vision of a fully distributed global supply chain for manufacturing.
Laser cutting will be available for 0.5 – 10 mm thick materials, and bending for 0.5 – 6 mm thicknesses. More details can be found here.
