The NESC Academy offers its viewers the opportunity to learn from senior NASA scientists, engineers, and subject matter experts, and it doesn’t hold back with the amount of varying content it offers.
This week we’ve stumbled across this lecture from Dr Chauncey Wu, a NASA science officer for mission assessments, as he explains what goes into the analysis of composite structures, especially for their manufacture.
Like all the NESC videos, it features lessons learned, discoveries, best practices, and innovative strategies, but also, it shows just how much detail and effort goes into these projects.
The full lecture is over an hour long, but it has a lot of technical detail, and some interesting experimental means for creating tow-steered shells.
