Cutting Edge Solutions and Majenta PLM, two of the leading Siemens PLM channel partners in the UK, have merged to produce what it lists as the largest sales, consultancy and technical support organisation for software vendor in the UK and Ireland.

Cutting Edge Solutions, based in Oxfordshire and formed in 1997, is one of the longest serving Siemens Industry Software resellers worldwide, while Majenta PLM, based in Bedfordshire, is one of the few Platinum resellers in Europe and the UK’s largest.

Update: The companies have announced the new company name – One PLM – at Cutting Edge Solutions’ Digital University event at Silverstone racetrack.

Both companies work together on organising the UK’s annual Solid Edge event, and by the admission of Majenta PLM managing director Mark Parry, this has been in discussion for several years, describing it as ‘the perfect scenario for both companies’.

With clients across a wide range of industries, and over 21 years of combined experience, the joint company is looking to expand its reach further with financial backing from UK-based SME investors BGF.

As part of the announcement, a joint statement suggests that the move will see resources pooled to provide greater capacity and flexibility.

Cutting Edge Solutions managing director Allan Blackwell, said: “We have long contemplated the value of this merger for our customers, Siemens and our staff in equal measure.

“This amalgamation will allow us to capitalise on the growth potential of the ever-expanding Siemens product portfolio and industry trend towards digitisation.”

He added that the acquisition presented an opportunity to add significant scale to the business and the backing of BGF is key to this. “We are pleased to have them on board as our new long-term partner,” he said.

Both companies have announced plans for a customer event where more details on the merger will be given.
