Amongst the winners of the Plastics Industry Awards 2010 was Smallfry who won the Consumer Product Design award for its Powerbreathe Portable Breathing Trainer

The annual Plastics Industry Awards recognises achievement throughout the UK plastics industry. It offers an insight into current developments in materials usage, product design and innovative manufacturing as well as identifying excellence in training and environmental performance.

The awards are open to all companies involved in the UK plastics industry including OEM manufacturers, processors and consultants. The entry deadline is Friday 10th June 2011 for all categories apart from the Apprentice or Trainee of the Year award, which closes on Friday 6th May 2011.
The 2010 award ceremony was held in London during October and saw many design agencies and companies receive awards including Smallfry who walked away with the Consumer Product Design Award and Kinneir Dufort who won the Industrial Product Design Award. “The very high standard of entries for the tenth annual Plastic Industry Awards is testement to the fact that UK companies still lead the world in many aspects of plastics design, moulding and manufacture,” said the awards’ organiser Steve Crowhurst.

The organisers are hoping for the same high standard this year so take a look at the different categories you can enter and be sure to submit your entry before the deadline.
