The London Design Festival (LDF) is packed full of amazing product design – usually with an edge on furniture and domestic items – that can give a huge boost to making a designer’s dreams a commercial reality.
Saying this, it’s based in Lahn’dahn Tahhn’, and exhibiting at the Tent Exhibition (where you want to be to catch the eye of consumer magazines and buyers) will come at a hefty price, especially if you only have a single product line, plus all the assorted costs of travel and accommodation in what isn’t a cheap city.
So to make things easier for those Oop Norf, the nice people at Design Event are calling for final submissions to exhibit on its hand-picked collective stand at the event before 1 April.
It’s a great opportunity for furniture, surface, textile, lighting and product designers based in the North East, North West, Yorkshire and Humber regions to get some solid backing at what is the biggest showcasing of design in the UK.
As well as exposure at LDF, exhibiting designers will get professional development support consisting of three one-to-one mentoring sessions and two group sessions before and after the exhibition, and ensure that they get the maximum benefit from exhibiting at Tent.
The sessions will discuss individual products, as well as help with marketing and sales (something you might not have had time to think about during your creative flurry). The Design Event team have a decent track record of producing the goods at trade fairs, with decades of experience in managing, selling and promoting high-quality design.
