French 3D measurement solutions expert, Kreon, has unveiled three new blue light, contactless options for its Skyline 3D scanning range.

Based on a common portable technological platform, all the Skyline scanners share the same technical characteristics of scanning speed, performance and ergonomics, along with integration with the Kreon Ace measuring arm.

With French marketing continuing to plough its own path (ie. in a world of its own, with the Caps Lock always on), the three options have been branded Eyes, Wide, Open – a word away from a sketchy late 90’s Tom Cruise film.

Eyes is said to be the most accurate Skyline option, with a 25 µm resolution and 9 µm accuracy, however all the scanners are said to be able to cope with shiny or reflective parts, and can be used immediately without any pre-heating.

Skyline Wide it the fastest scanning option curtesy of a large 200mm laser line width and 600,000 points/sec acquisition speed, which decreases the number of scan passes required.

Skyline Open is reported to be the most affordable, with the lowest spec of the three scanning modules, although no pricing has been released.

All integrate fully with the Kreon Ace 7 scanning arm.
