Tom Rucker was awarded five Gold Awards at the 2017 Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship and Design Awards for his piece the GEO.NIOT Brooch

The prestigious annual jewellery design competition from the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council returns once more, and is now open for entries from medallions and medals, to silversmiths and fashion jewellery.

Aiming to promote the highest standards in design and craftsmanship within the jewellery, goldsmithing, silversmithing industry and allied crafts, the awards also help promote the use of advanced technologies within the industry, including 3D design and manufacture.

Open to anyone in the United Kingdom engaged in designing or working with precious metals, gemstones and other related materials, the competition has helped to launch the careers of many eminent craftspeople in the profession and are the only peer reviewed awards in the industry’s calendar.
Both designs and finished pieces receive individual categories, including a category solely for 3D CAD designs, although the design must be able to be manufactured.

Have a look at the full list of categories here, and rules for closing dates and other such formalities are here (note: first closing date is 12 January, so hurry!).
