Dell’s re-ignited passion for ultra mobile workstations came to light last month with news of the Precision M3800.
Now we have a little more info on this 15-inch mobile workstation, which will be released later this year, following on from the new Precision M4800 and M6800.
Dell has revealed that the M3800 will offer up to 16GB of memory and have options for both SSD and SSHD storage. SSHD, for those that are unaware, is a Solid State Hybrid Drive, which combines a solid state and hard disk drive in a single unit – for a blend of performance and capacity
Dell has also confirmed that the compact mobile workstation – which comes in less than ¾ of an inch (18mm) and weighs just over 2kg – will offer two different resolutions of screen – FHD (1,920 x 1,080) in addition to the ultra high-res QHD+ (3,200 x 1,800). Multi touch is standard on both displays.
It has also emerged that the chassis is based on Dell’s XPS 15 and features a forged aluminium display back, carbon fibre base and soft-touch palm rest. The machine will also come with a reduced size / weight AC adapter.
