LK Metrology launch new Maxima CMM models

LK Metrology has added two new ranges of CMM to the market with the Maxima and Maxima R that promise to meet the growing demand for precise measurement of large, heavy and complex components.

Built for use across industries such as automotive, aerospace and power generation, this new Maxima range boasts of consistent measurement results and long-term stability.

LK Metrology says that both new scanners feature ceramic beam and spindle guideways aiming to provide the best stiffness-to-weight ratio. A robust build structure has been specified for consistent accuracy and repeatable results in the order of 3µm.

Low gap, high-efficiency air bearings and a zero-hysteresis drive system have been incorporated for lower maintenance.

The Maxima series has a volume measurement from 12 to 72 cubic metres, and the range includes 28 models in six table lengths for three to 8 metres and 7 variants of bridge cross section up to three metres.

The Maxima R range has a twin-rail design engineered for heavyweight workpieces. This eliminates the need for special foundations simplifies installation. The Maxima R is available in the same range of sizes as the table-type models.

Both new CMM product lines are equipped with a LK controller and are available in several configurations: either probe-ready for tactile inspection and laser scanning using a PH10MQ Plus multi-sensor indexing probe head with autojoint, or in ScanTek configuration with a multi-sensor REVO2 head to provide 5-axis scanning, or with an SP80 ultra-accurate fixed scanning head with probe builds up to one metre.

The Renishaw PH10MQ-ready models feature a multiwire cable that supports both SLK and L/LC/XC laser scanner technologies, eliminating the need for a separate probe-ready configuration for each type.
