The new S300 range from Solidscape is targeting the custom jewellery industry

Solidscape has unveiled its new S300 series wax 3D printer, designed with the focus of enabling more efficient high end custom jewelry production for jewellery designers, manufacturers and investment casting companies.

The Stratasys-owned company has announced two new printers, the S350 and S370, alongside a new castable material, Midas, and new dissolvable support Melt-J.

The S350 and S370’s feature a re-engineered material delivery system, temperature control system and tank level measurement with a 100 per cent increase in build capacity.
Both printers continue to utilise Solidscape’s Smooth Curvature Printing technology that combines precision drop-on-demand jetting with milling to deliver a purported industry highest accuracy, with 6um resolution and smooth surface finish.

The new castable material, Midas, provides a clean burnout with no thermal expansion, making it preferable for all metal casting, including platinum as well as room temperature vulcanising molding applications.

The support material, Melt-J, is a non-toxic, hands-free dissolvable, which according to Solidscape eliminates the need to create or remove support structures, ‘improving manufacturing efficiency and enabling faster delivery to the customer’.

This new generation materials has been designed to be integrated into existing manufacturing and casting processes, avoiding the need for special burn-out schedules or equipment.

“The growing global demand for high end custom jewelry we see, requires professional tools that can produce any design without limits,” said Solidscape president Fabio Esposito.

“The new S300 Series printers and materials offer jewelers unique 3D printing accuracy, precision and reliability.”
