Replique expands global manufacturing partnership with Alstom

Replique is expanding its manufacturing collaboration with transport manufacturer Alstom to produce more of its parts globally on demand.

Replique manages the entire process from design and qualification to production, finishing, quality assurance, and delivery to the end customer.

Having traditionally focussed on additive manufacturing, with initial projects, such as door stoppers and tank caps, Replique’s production range has grown since the partnership’s founding in 2022.

Replique is presently capable of evaluating each component to determine the most cost-effective and technically optimal solution , whether 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, forging, or other processes.

The partnership allows for quick and suitable solutions for replacement parts such as in the case of an impeller in a metro solution cooling unit in Asia.

While the original manufacturer only offered to replace the entire block, Replique produced the single component and handled every step of the process from metal 3D printing and balancing to precision milling and final corrosion-resistant coating – getting the locomotive back on track.

The partnership fits with Alstom’s need for a versatile partnership to supply complex industrial parts, with materials ranging from stainless steel to flame-retardant plastics.

It’s not just replacement but also restoration; in Italy, Replique quickly delivered cast intercoolers to help restore a train from the 1960s. Since the previous supplier was no longer available, Replique ensured production using 3D-printed casting moulds which secures long-term spare part availability.

“We are proud to provide Alstom with global solutions that make their parts supply more efficient and flexible,” said Replique CEO Dr. Max Siebert.

“Our components are used in series production, and each project highlights the diverse challenges of parts procurement while motivating us in our vision of a globally connected, sustainable, and efficient supply chain.”
