Wacom MobileStudio Pro all-in-one tablet boosts power and adds inbuilt 3D camera

The Wacom MobileStudio Pro, launching later this month, is targeting the 3D market with its powerful new tablet – featuring a pro Nvidia Quadro GPU, 4k resolution, and an inbuilt 3D scanner.

Available in 13.3″ and 15.6″ models, the range of larger models top spec comes with the Nvidia Quadro M1000M GPU with 4GB VRAM, while the Wacom Link technology has the added benefit of letting users to attach a MobileStudio Pro to any Mac or PC and use it as a standard Cintiq display once back at the desktop.

Running on Windows 10, as well as being solid enough to run standard applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator, Wacom is keen to promote the Mobile Studio Pro’s ability to run 3D CAD.

The top spec tablet is able to run more demanding 3D software applications such as Autodesk Fusion 360, to which the inbuilt Intel RealSense 3D scanner can directly capture and import content.

Forming a new family in the Wacom line, the MobileStudio Pro features Wacom’s new Pro Pen 2 technology, a newly designed pen unit with a claimed four-times higher accuracy and pressure sensitivity than the company’s previous professional pen, Wacom is pushing the pro tablet as the ‘ultimate creative tool for today’s serious 2D, 3D and CAD artists and designers’.

Configurations + Pricing

MobileStudio Pro 13: four models come with an IPS high-brightness panel, 2.5K (WQHD) resolution and 96% Adobe RGB. Customer options are defined by Solid State Drive (SSD) size – 64GB (€1,599), 128GB (€1,899), 256GB (€1,999) and 512GB (€2,699).

MobileStudio Pro 16: two models are fit with an IPS high-brightness panel, 4K (UHD) resolution and 94% Adobe RGB. There’s a 256GB (€2,599) with NVIDIA Quadro M600M with 2GB VRAM and 512GB (€3,199) with NVIDIA Quadro M1000M with 4GB VRAM.
