Stratasys has expanded its 3D Printing material options, with its FDM ASA material available in eight new colours, and PolyJet process adding 20 new ‘digital materials’.
Launched in September, ASA is an all-purpose FDM material previously launched in ivory and black, although eight new colour options giving it what Stratasys describes as the widest range of FDM colour available.
UV resistant and with matte finish, the material now comes in red, orange, dark gray, yellow, green, dark blue, white and light grey, and is compatible with the majority of the Fortus line-up.
In addition, Stratasys is expanding its PolyJet technology, which already offers more than 1,000 digital material options, by adding 20 more.
These combine its Endur material with other base materials, allowing users to create parts using a range of gray-scale colors with rigid material options,as well as the ability to select a variety of shore values with flexible material options.
8 new rigid digital materials offer a range of six gray shades and two white shades, while 12 new flexible digital materials offer a range of shore values – Six of these combining Endur with TangoBlackPlus, six with TangoPlus.
“By introducing Endur Digital Materials, we are giving customers more flexibility and versatility to 3D print durable prototypes,” said Boaz Jacobi, director of product management for PolyJet consumables. “It’s a superior PolyJet solution for living-hinge and snap-fit applications.”
