HP wants designers, engineers and managers to get ‘hands on’ with its new HP Z1 G2.
The computing giant has added Windows 8 touch capabilities to its second-generation all-in-one workstation which features a 27-inch IPS (2,560 x 1,440) display.
With the boardroom being one of the intended homes for this stylish machine having touchscreen capabilities makes a lot of sense. It’s far easier to use one’s fingers than to pass round a mouse in collaborative sessions, but it does rely on the design / review software being touch-enabled.
Other new features of HP’s slick all-in-one workstation include Intel Thunderbolt 2 for high-speed connection to external devices as well as the obligatory CPU and GPU upgrades.
The HP Z1 G2 offers a range of 4th Generation Intel Xeon and Core processors including the Xeon E3-1280v3, E3-1245v3, E3-1225v3 and the Core i5-4570 and Core i3-4130, plus a choice of GPUs including Nvidia Quadro K610M (1GB), Quadro K2100M (2GB),Quadro K3100M (4GB) and Quadro K4100M (4GB).
The machine can host up to 32GB ECC or 16GB non-ECC memory and a choice of SATA and mSATA SSDs and 7,200RPM and 10,000RPM HDDs.
