The release of Service Pack 1 for the Hoops Visualize 2018 software development toolkit (SDK) is the first from Tech Soft 3D to provide support for Siemens Parasolid Convergent Modelling.

By converging classic, solid (B-rep) and facet model operations in a single geometric modelling component, Parasolid convergent modeling enables software vendors to efficiently support workflows that seek to leverage both geometric representations.

Additionally, Siemens Parasolid support of loading multiple models into a single scene has been added to HOOPS Visualize.
“Our partners developing engineering applications are constantly seeking higher-quality graphics,” said Tech Soft 3D product manager Erik Hultgren.

“As Hoops Visualize is the gold standard graphics engine that powers hundreds of successful engineering applications worldwide, it is a natural and necessary evolution to support Siemens Parasolid Convergent Modeling, which enables workflows such as reverse engineering of digitally scanned models, CAE workflows and preparing models for 3D printing.”

There are significant performance improvements across the board, including selection performance for rays, points and area is improved and now faster, especially for large polyhedrons.

Augmented reality and virtual reality support in HOOPS Visualize is now available for C++ users on Windows using the DirectX 11 driver.
