Boston’s new midi-tower workstation, The Boston Venom 2300-7T, features up to two 8-core Xeon E5-2600 series processors, an Nvidia Quadro GPU, an Nvidia Tesla GPU compute card and up to 512GB RAM.
Featuring Nvidia Maximus technology, the Venom 2300-7T is designed to offload compute intensive operations (rendering or simulation) to the Nvidia Tesla C2075, leaving the Xeon processors and Quadro graphics card free to run mainstream CAD software unhindered.
Applications that support this workflow include Bunkspeed Shot, 3ds Max Design and Catia Live rendering (for design viz) and Ansys Mechanical and Simulia Abaqus (for simulation).
The Boston Venom 2300-7T offers a choice of four graphics cards – Nvidia Quadro 2000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 – a Solid State Drive (SSD) up to 400GB, and two Enterprise class S-ATA hard drives (up to 4GB apiece). With liquid cooled CPUs, the workstation is also claimed to be ‘ultra quiet’.
