The new Objet30 Pro – a seven material desktop 3D printer – looks likely to be the last piece of individual innovation from Objet before its merger with Stratasys.
Including clear transparent material and high temperature resistant materials for the first time in a desktop unit, the 300 x 200 x 150mm build tray, and ‘professional’ 28 micron print quality, it should prove useful for a wide range of industries wishing to build their own high quality prototypes.
Objet’s desktop range begins at $19,900 for an entry level Objet24, although expect a jump in price to the top spec Objet30 Pro, especially seeing as the ‘standard’ Objet30 appears to have disappeared from the company website altogether. The expanded material capabilities will be available as an upgrade for those already with an Alaris30 or Objet30.
This follows on from the launch earlier this month of Stratasys’ Mojo, its $9,900 base model FDM desktop printer, as both sides seem to be pushing out non-conflicting products in preparation for the new family gathering.
