Scan Computers has launched Scan Cloud, a new cloud service that offers customers access to GPU-accelerated workstations and servers.
Powered by professional-grade Nvidia RTX GPUs and vGPU technology, Scan says the new service offers all the capabilities of its 3XS Systems from any device, anywhere – on-site or off-site.
With Scan Cloud, virtual workstations and servers running Windows 10 Pro or Ubuntu Linux, are delivered ‘securely’ from a centralised server infrastructure.
Virtual machines can be specifically tailored to meet customer requirements in terms of number of users and performance profiles. They feature AMD Epyc CPUs, Nvidia Ampere RTX GPUs and up to 384GB of DDR4 memory.
The portfolio includes five services, each aimed at specific industry verticals.
3XS Pro Graphics Cloud Workstation is billed as a flexible service that delivers high performance virtualised professional graphics applications for CAD, CAE, AEC, BIM and M&E. Remote teams can also work collaboratively in real-time using Nvidia Omniverse Enterprise. VMs feature AMD EPYC CPUs, Nvidia Ampere RTX GPUs and up to 384 GB of DDR4 memory. Prices start at £119 per month.
For ‘rapid CPU and GPU rendering’ there’s a complementary 3XS Cloud Rendering service.
Meanwhile, 3XS Pro Video Cloud Workstations are for professional video applications for editing, colour grading, VFX and M&E, 3XS DGX as a Service is for deep learning, and 3XS Cloud PC is for everyday office applications.
The cloud-based service is available in rental increments as small as one month, and Scan Cloud services can be used as little or as often as needed.
Scan Cloud can be provisioned as a public cloud service or tailored for private cloud infrastructure. All Scan Cloud solutions can also be trialed free of charge via a proof of concept hosted in a secure UK datacentre.
