With the highly successful launch of DEVELOP3D Live in April 2012, the editorial team is now busy organising this year’s event, which is taking place on 16 April, 2013 at the Warwick Arts Centre, Warwick University.

This year’s event is bigger in every way – over 30 speakers from a variety of industries, double the simultaneous tracks, double the exhibitors and more activities to participate in.

We strongly advise that you bring a maximum team from your company to ensure you get the full benefit of the conference.

From last year’s delegate feedback we note that many travelled from all over the country, which can mean a very early start and possible risk of missing the keynote speaker.

With this in mind, we are offering low-cost, onsite accommodation (£60 bed and breakfast) the night before, together with drinks and food at a ‘meet and greet’ with the speakers on the evening of Monday 15 April.

Sessions

With feedback from last year’s conference, we have added more structure to this year’s event.

There will be dedicated sessions lasting between one and two hours, featuring a number of industry leaders, covering the following topics:
• 3D Printing
• Simulation and Analysis
• Rendering and Visualisation
• Hardware

These will be run together with a CEO/CTO mainstage session – which will feature important information for defining your company’s future use of design technology – together with some leading product designers and engineers.

Speakers

Our line up of speakers is incredibly impressive; we can’t remember an event where so many leading executives from the CAD industry have been under one roof.

All will be talking on the developments in technology with, if we are lucky, some ‘first’ demonstrations of forthcoming products.

Carl Bass co-founded Ithaca Software, which was acquired by Autodesk in 1993.

He serves on the Board of Directors of Autodesk, E2open, the Art Centre College of Design, and the Rocky Mountain Institute. He is also a member of the Executive Advisory Boards of Cornell Computing.

Belmont Technology is a startup company in Cambridge, Massachusetts that is developing new products applying the latest in computing technology to the CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM market.

Hirschtick founded SolidWorks, where he served as CEO, board member and group executive until 2011.

Honoured in 2005 by Inc. Magazine as “The Entrepreneur of the Year”, Ping Fu describes herself as an artist and a scientist whose chosen expression is business.

In 1997, she co-founded Geomagic. Since 2010, Ping Fu has been serving on the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship board at the White House.

After spending several years working in product design for innovation consulting firm Continuum, he joined Santa Cruz Bicycles in 2002.

During his tenure, Santa Cruz has grown into a globally respected brand of high performance mountain bikes, winning multiple World Championships

Al’s background is in the product development and engineering field, but for the last decade or so, he’s been writing about technology and its use to bring new ideas and concepts to market.

He’s also a bit of tinkerer, spending many hours in his garden shed.

Reeves is an experienced researcher and strategist on the future of the 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing economy, its technologies, business implementation, education and supply chain.

He has spent almost 20-years helping companies to maximise the use of additive technologies.

Tom Lawton is the epitome of the British inventor – living and breathing original and innovative ideas.

He has honed the design skills, energy and business acumen to make his ideas a reality.

By day Gustavo designs and manages an advanced development team of industrial design at a large corporation. By night he tinkers with other ideas to keep his mind fresh beyond his own industry. To complicate his life some more, he decided to recently start nimblstand, his own self-funded brand of made in the USA products for mobile computing.

NX training

We will be offering free training along with Gold Sponsor Siemens and Dell workstations.

Exhibition

We have taken over the whole of the Warwick Arts Centre, which has enabled a much expanded space to experience the latest in product development technology.

WMG tour

Warwick is one of the most influential engineering universities and plays host to the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).

The team is at the forefront of innovative technology research, leading major multi-partner projects to create and develop exciting new processes.

WMG has impressive facilities and technologies in-house and as a delgeate you’ll be able to book a tour throughout the day. WMG is a useful contact point to go through in the process of applying for Government funding for R&D.
