Renishaw has extended its Agility CMM range to include machines for the measurement lab, featuring 5-axis technology and multi-sensor abilities.
The new multi-sensor features should enable manufacturers to carry out multiple measurement processes and report results ‘on a single device’, explains Renishaw.
Agility CMM users have access to the full range of Revo sensors, which include tactile touch-trigger, surface roughness, temperature, ultrasonic thickness measurement and non-contact probes.
The new bearing design and placement, cable track arrangement and linear motors should improve stability and repeatability when the Revo system is scanning at high speeds. Renishaw states that friction, wear and maintenance should be improved due to the design offering minimal contact between parts.
Granite provides stability and strength for the machine, while anodised aluminium ensures accurate metrology throughout the measuring volume.
Agility S shop floor CMMs can inspect manufactured parts in a production environment where clean air and temperature control cannot be guaranteed.
They are available with working volumes ranging from 700 x 900 x 600 mm up to 1,600 x 2,400 x 1,200 mm (X x Y x Z), and include variants with a raised working volume to accommodate pallet loading systems or rotary tables.
Agility L machines are designed for the metrology lab and are specified for a temperature range of 18 to 22 degrees. They provide multi-sensor 5-axis measurement in clean rooms.
The smaller variants are available with working volumes ranging from 500 x 500 x 500 mm up to 1,600 x 3,500 x 1,200 mm (X x Y x Z).
Agility CMMs are compatible with manufacturing data platform Renishaw Central, which enables reporting and process control on the shop floor.
