The new PSLA 270 system from 3D Systems is promising ‘the speed of light-projection technologies with the quality and reliability of SLA’, combining the latest 3D printer with a full wash and cure set-up.

The PSLA 270 is a high speed, projector-based, mid-size 3D printer, designed to make use of the existing Figure 4 materials portfolio, while the new Wash 400 station and Cure 400 form a complimentary set up for production, while being compatible with existing Figure 4 systems.

Able to pass through a standard doorway and using standard power, the levelling system can be set up rapidly, making it a versatile machine that can be easily shifted on a production space or workshop floor.

7 watt projectors promise a 90µm pixel resolution over a build volume of 242 x 265 x 300mm, while the unit has been designed for frequent material changes, taking 15 minutes to clean and swap our one resin for another, with stainless interior covers to minimise maintenance and cleaning times.

The Wash 400 supports non-flammable detergents, while a 400F version can support detergents like IPA. The system eliminates the need for most of the manual cleaning of resin-printed parts. The dual system design allows for “Dirty” and “Clean” washing workflows, a parts holder for loose parts or full-build platforms, and a piston lift mechanism for removing parts from the detergents.

Both solutions have simple user interfaces and can accommodate full 400mm build plates.

The 3D Systems Cure 400 is a scalable options for post-processing UV-curable resins. It features a rotary table for part shadow reduction, full spectrum LEDs, and a 400 x 400 x 400mm curing volume.

Cure 400 is compatible with all UV photopolymers in the 3D Systems portfolio, with streamlined recipes to control the temperature and UV exposure for optimal material properties, while the rotating part platform ensures uniform UV exposure for even curing over the total cure volume.
