Increased demand for low volume production in the UK has led to a London 3D printing bureau expanding into a new purpose-built facility in the City.
3DPRINTUK, a service provider of SLS 3D printing has moved into nearly 10,000 square feet of space designed to house its growing fleet of EOS polymer SLS machines and necessary ancillary equipment.
The new site includes two rooms dedicated to post processing operations for cleaning and dyeing, including a solid colour dying DM60 system from Dye Mansion.
The floor of the new facility currently houses 7 EOS Formiga P1 Series systems and a EOS P3 Seriesmachine, all running 24/7, with plans to further increase the size of its fleet in 2020.
“At 3DPRINTUK we are able to work with our customers — and potential new customers — to illustrate when and why the SLS process will work for them. But we are not afraid to tell them when it won’t, either!” said founder and MD Nick Allen.
“This is really important to us, and something the industry at large is not very good at confronting.
“I think this approach has contributed to our growth, which has been organic year on year, and the new premises are testament to that. We are still settling in, but the printers have been working non-stop since we got here and we are looking to further expand our capacity in the near future.”
